10 Things you might not know about

Author S. Dora

 1. I never learned to drink coffee. I absolutely hate the taste. Only tea for me, please.

2. Okay, and hot chocolate.

3. I honestly can’t remember the slightest thing about the first meeting between my wife and me. Or, that we even had a first meeting.

4. On October 30, we celebrate our anniversary. This year it will be the 32th.

5. If I have to make a choice, I’d prefer watching an action or war movie over a chick flick or romcom.

6. My wife and I call a woman who we think is attractive, a “cup of tea” (as in: “I wouldn’t mind drinking a cup of tea with her.” And no, drinking a cup of tea isn’t an euphemism for sex)

7. I think taking a piece of liquorice and a peppermint in your mouth at the same time is one of the world’s best taste-combinations.

8. I’m probably one of the least sexually adventurous persons you’re likely to meet, but you wouldn’t guess that in a million years from reading my books.

9. I prefer to read non-fiction.

10. I have never dressed as a man and I haven’t owned a single dress or skirt since my 18^th birthday.

 

 

 

 

Calling the Shots

The Calling the Shots series tells the story of slightly conservative office worker Isaac and his beloved Tom during their journey to integrate D/s into their committed but so far mostly vanilla relationship.

Isaac has to face his doubts and uncertainties about his role as Dominant. No matter how much he wants to make his lover happy, is it really okay for him to order a grown man around, spank and cane him, even/especially if that person is his lover and he’s positively begging for it?

Robert straightened his cap and brushed a speck of dirt off his neatly pressed chauffeur’s jacket before pushing away from the gleaming black stretch limousine to greet his employer. Stairs were being pushed up to the small, expensive jet. It would be only a matter of a minute or so until the plane’s door opened and he finally saw Brenton again. How long had he been gone this time? Almost a week. To Robert, it could have been a month.

For Colorado in early autumn, the evening was mild. The sun was setting behind the Rockies to the west, painting the sky with vivid oranges and purples. Since he was focused on waiting for the door to open, he barely noticed anything.

After an interminable wait, Brenton emerged.

What Robert wouldn’t give for the opportunity to help his boss relieve some of his stress. But the mere hint of that would cross the boundary lines the Marstons kept between them and the hired help. "Welcome home, sir," Robert shouted above the roar of a departing plane.

He sincerely meant the greeting. He couldn’t keep the grin off his face. For the last few days, he’d felt like a little kid anticipating the arrival of Santa Claus. "How was your flight?" He moved in to claim the man’s expensive leather briefcase. Some designer label, he knew. But unless it had something to do with cars, logos meant little to him.

"Three time zones in five days," Brenton said.

"The car is cool. I’ve poured you a whisky."

"You’re a good man, Silles."

It was a fantasy to hear Brenton call him anything other than his surname. Robert opened the rear door. As Brenton slid inside, Robert caught a whiff of the man’s scent. He smelled of power, of success, of ambition, all laced with pheromones. It had musky undertones, and Robert knew it hadn’t come out of a bottle. Harnessing his thoughts, Robert placed the briefcase on the carpeted floor and then closed the door.

After stowing the luggage, Robert eased onto Arapahoe Road and then turned north onto the interstate that would take them north for a few miles. He cast surreptitious glances in the mirror as he drove.

With his left hand, Brenton loosened his tie, dragging the knot down to mid-chest. Then he released the top button on his shirt before exhaling and leaning his head back. Always aware of appearances, the man generally looked ready to buy a business.

For a moment, Robert fantasised about straddling the other man and trailing his tongue down the column of Brenton’s throat. Robert would open each button one at a time, and place his mouth over each bit of exposed skin. Emboldened by Brenton’s moans, Robert would loosen the man’s belt, unzip his pants, then roughly take hold of his cock and stroke him off as Brenton moaned and writhed helplessly.

Noah sat with his head resting on his folded arms, staring at his desktop two inches from his nose. Well, in fairness, he didn’t really see the desktop because he couldn’t get that kiss out of his head.

What had he been thinking? He couldn’t do this. Could. Not.

A stiff knock at his door heralded an unwanted visitor. He sat up straight, brushed his fingers over his hair and pasted on a smile. “Come in.”

AJ peeked around his door. “Got a minute?”

Shit. If he’d not wanted Shannon to be on the other side of the door, it was only a close second for this man. “Sure. What did you need?”

His friend sank into the same chair Shannon had occupied only a scant hour before when he’d crushed his dreams and ousted him from the only job he’d known. Noah shook his head to rid himself of the annoyance. He was good at managing an office. He’d be in work in no time.

Silence registered on his radar. Noah looked expectantly at AJ, who stared right back, one eyebrow lifted. “What?”

“I asked if you were okay.”

Oh. “I’m fine.”

“You’d think with being able to finally be open about your relationship with Shannon that you’d be a lot more than fine.” AJ cocked his head. “But then, I would have thought we were good enough friends that you would have confided in me, too.”

“I couldn’t do that.” There was no way to explain the depth of his loyalty to Shannon. Not without sounding like he was a simpering fool following an unrequited love. “Shannon and I had made a choice.”

AJ shifted forward, holding Noah’s gaze. “Yeah, but how long ago did you make that choice, Noah?”

That was an easy one. “The minute I met him.”

His friend snorted. An honest-to-God snort. “Please. I’ve seen the way you watch him. Moon over him. But you never made a move. Not once.”

Noah clenched his teeth. He didn’t expect people to understand the way he felt, or the lengths to which he would go to make sure Shannon was happy. It wasn’t their business, and just because Shannon wanted to play at being a couple now didn’t make it their business. “You don’t get to question my loyalty or my love for him.”

“I have no doubt you feel both.”

The doubt was on Shannon.

Everything in Noah screamed at him to wipe the smirk off his friend’s face. Even as he shared that doubt. “We are going to need one more person to help with managing the booth at that conference next week. I’ll have Isabelle book your flight and hotel.”

AJ’s eyebrows shot up. “Excuse me?”

“You want to see for yourself that our relationship is real? Here’s your chance.” Noah typed out the email booking AJ’s flight, copying both AJ and Shannon. He met AJ’s surprised look with an amused one of his own as the iPhone on his friend’s hip dinged. “Congratulations. You’ll be spending one exhaustion-filled week in the lovely Hamburg, Germany.”

Em Woods still considers herself an Army brat, which she credits for developing her imagination and curiosity. She is the mother of two energetic little boys, which she says gives her a wonderful sense of humour and an infinite amount of patience.
